Subtitle styles questions
How do I choose a readable subtitle style?+
Choose text that contrasts clearly with its background. Try both preview widths and adjust the font size so captions wrap comfortably. Play your video to check that you can read each caption before it disappears.
Does SRT keep subtitle fonts and colors?+
SRT does not provide a portable stylesheet for fonts and colors. This tool imports SRT timing and text, then exports WebVTT with your chosen font, size and colors. Imported caption markup appears as literal text in both the preview and the download.
Where can I use a styled VTT file?+
A styled VTT file can be used as a subtitle track in an HTML video player. The W3C WebVTT specification defines STYLE blocks before cues and the ::cue selector. Players and viewer caption preferences determine which styling is displayed. Check the file in your destination player. The download keeps cue timing, WebVTT identifiers, cue settings and other metadata, and replaces imported styles with your selection.
