Subtitle editor questions
How do I edit an SRT or VTT file?+
Choose your SRT or VTT file, edit caption text in the cue list, then download subtitles in either format. Multiline captions and millisecond timing are preserved. WebVTT exports also retain cue identifiers, timing settings and metadata.
How do I fix subtitle timing and overlaps?+
Edit each cue’s Start and End timestamps using hours:minutes:seconds.milliseconds. Preview seeks to that cue’s start. Overlap flags show captions whose time ranges intersect, including nested cues. Adjust the times to remove an overlap; cues that meet at the same boundary do not overlap. Invalid times or empty text must be corrected before downloading.
Can I preview subtitles without uploading my video?+
Yes. Load video opens a file directly from your device and overlays your edited captions during playback and seeking. Neither the video nor subtitles are uploaded. Without a video, move the Preview time scrubber to check which captions appear.
